Salute You with Reverence, Oh Dad!


You are my world, my strength, oh my loving Dad!
You are by my side in times good as well as bad.
In your arms I feel the warmth and get confidence!
To face the world with courage and perseverance.

For your family’s wellbeing you toil relentlessly!
With care, you Provide for our needs selflessly.
Your presence makes us feel strong and comfortable!
You pour out your love and concern when we become vulnerable.


We are reminded of discipline by your serious presence!
We are reprimanded for our faults by your staring glance.
Your care and concern, creates a sense of reverence!
Your constant struggle teaches us perseverance!

You give us Courage and Faith as the Noblest gift!
When we stumble in life, you are there to lift.
You lead us by example, when there is a stumbling rift!
When life becomes a mess you teach us to prudently drift.


We cannot meet personally our God the creator!
That’s why he sent you Dad as our protector, Care taker.
You are with us and taking the role of the Almighty father!
Ingredients for a successful life, from you we gather.


We look up to you for your valuable guidance!
During tough times, from you we learn patience, endurance.
To build our self image you bear all our nuisance!
By working out on your own responsibly, you teach us Self-reliance.


We salute you with full of gratitude and love!
Keeping you always happy, is what we owe.
With happiness and reverence, our heads we bow!
We too are walking towards life’s dusk, agree to the nature’s law.

  • The article / poem / short story should be original and previously unpublished in other websites except in the personal blog of the author. We will cross-check the originality of the article, and if found to be copied from another source in whole or in parts without appropriate acknowledgment, the submission will be rejected.
  • The author of the poem / article / short story should include a brief self-introduction limited to 500 characters and his/her recent picture (optional). Pictures relevant to the article may also be sent (optional), provided they are not bound by copyright. Travelogues should be sent along with relevant pictures not sourced from the Internet. Travelogues without relevant pictures will be rejected.
  • In case of a short story / article, the write-up should be at least one-and-a-half pages in word document in Times New Roman font 12 (or, about 700-800 words). Contributors are requested to keep their write-ups limited to a maximum of four pages. Longer write-ups may be sent in parts to publish in installments. Each installment should be sent within a week of the previous installment. A single poem sent for publication should be at least 3/4th of a page in length. Multiple short poems may be submitted for single publication.
  • All submissions should be in Microsoft Word format or text file. Pictures should not be larger than 1000 pixels in width, and of good resolution. Pictures should be attached separately in the mail and may be numbered if the author wants them to be placed in order.
  • Submission of the article / poem / short story does not automatically entail that it would be published. Daijiworld editors will examine each submission and decide on its acceptance/rejection purely based on merit.
  • Daijiworld reserves the right to edit the submission if necessary for grammar and spelling, without compromising on the author's tone and message.
  • Daijiworld reserves the right to reject submissions without prior notice. Mails/calls on the status of the submission will not be entertained. Contributors are requested to be patient.
  • The article / poem / short story should not be targeted directly or indirectly at any individual/group/community. Daijiworld will not assume responsibility for factual errors in the submission.
  • Once accepted, the article / poem / short story will be published as and when we have space. Publication may take up to four weeks from the date of submission of the write-up, depending on the number of submissions we receive. No author will be published twice in succession or twice within a fortnight.
  • Time-bound articles (example, on Mother's Day) should be sent at least a week in advance. Please specify the occasion as well as the date on which you would like it published while sending the write-up.

    A meaningful poem. I had to refer the dictionary to understand some of the words bcoz of which my knowledge increased. Hope my daughter will have the same opinion when she grows up and I will try my best to be a good father for her which my father couldn't. It is a reality that today's fathers are better than yesterdays fathers.

    Even St. Joesph is least bothered and honored in church where he accepted God's angels message and taken care of mother Mary and Jesus in his old age. Every poets, writers focus on mothers to get more sensations and sympathies. But as for me those who loves and honor their father wholeheartedly then really they are loving their mother. It is also true daughters loves fathers more than sons.

    The father of five children had won a toy at a raffle.
    He called his kids together to ask which one should have the present.
    Then he posed some questions...
    1. Who is the most obedient?he asked and
    2.Who never talks back to mother and
    3.Who does everything mother says?
    Five little voices replied in unison.
    "Okay daddy! You get the toy"!
    Oh!Dad....

    True, nice and beautiful poem. Most of the dads do their level best for their family. But very few children analyse and remember the dads hard-works and selfless contribution. When he become old and helpless, he will not ask anything with children. instead, he will go to a closed room and cry. He will come out from the room with a broad smile. This is true dad.

    Today is my father's birthday, who had died 26 years ago on 3rd Sep. 1990 at the age of 77. Dad, if what I am today, it was your hard work and your struggle in your life. You gave us education to all of us, taught us human values, to your 13 children, even though you had less education, but you understood what education is all about. I cherish your memory, your straight forward talks and your dealings with others. You are in heaven today and intercede for all of us.
