Kundapur, Jan 16: In a tragic incident, a mason working in a building under construction at Hunsemakki of Kota police station limits fell down and died.
The deceased was Jogu Poojary (38), son of Sheena Poojary, resident of Neramballi, Keremane, Kundapur.
The construction of first floor of Hegde bar at Hunsemakki market was in progress. Jogu Poojary and five other workers were working there. Meanwhile, Jogu Poojary lost balance and fell down during masonry work on Monday morning, January 16.
As he fell down on the compound, he was seriously injured and died on the spot.
Jogu Poojary was married. He is survived by his wife and two children.
It is heard that the building owner has not provided any facilities for safety of the workers. A police case was registered at Kota police station.
