Mangaluru, Feb 17: Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza was on his pastoral visit on February 17. It is eight years since the bishop visited the institute as the president of the institution.
He was welcomed and received by the correspondent Fr Valerian D’Souza, the campus administrator Fr Michael Santhumayor, heads of the institution, management members, governing council members and PTA members of all sections along with institution band and NCC cadets.
Student representative Navya Rao welcomed the gathering. All the heads of the institution, PTA presidents and student representatives of various sections greeted the bishop florally.
The bishop was impressed by the academic report of the institute. He motivated the students and emphasized the importance of being strong as a lion, as the lion has the ability to withstand any situation and accept any challenge. He highlighted the importance of value based education given to students from primary to degree level. Man becomes capable not through academic excellence alone, but also by aquiring intellectual, emotional and spiritual qualities.
He appreciated all the heads of the institutes and staff for their effort and dedication and inaugurated the new basketball court on Milagres grounds. Vote of thanks was delivered by Winston Prince Baretto from the high school section. Anisha D’Souza compered the programme.
