Doha, Feb 20: ICC affiliated Karnataka based associations Karnataka Sangha Qatar, Karnataka Muslim Cultural Association, Tulukoota Qatar, Mangalore Cricket Club, South Kanara Muslim Welfare Association, Bunts Qatar held a felicitation ceremony for Doha Bank CEO, Dr R Seetharaman on Saturday evening February 18 at ICC, Ashoka Hall. He was earlier felicitated with the ‘Pravasi Bharatiya Samman’ award by the honorable President of India, Pranab Mukherji on January 9 at Bengaluru.
A grand Poornakumbha welcome reception was accorded to the adorable couple Dr R Seetharaman and Sangeetha Seetharaman and to the chief guest of the evening ICC president Milan Arun. A traditional procession led by Chande, Dolu and Kahale.
The programme commenced with lighting of the lamp by Sangeetha Seetharaman and Milan Arun in the presence of the ladies association. A semi classical dance was later presented by Saanvi Sudesh, Akshaya D Shetty and Ramya Santhosh Naik choreographed by Akhaya Deepak Shetty. A short video depicting the life journey of Dr Seetharaman was presented.
The MC of the evening and TKQ president Ravi Shetty invited the guests to the dais. They were escorted by KSQ president H K Madhu, KMCA president Abdulla Monu, MCC president Prakash Noronha, Bunts Qatar president Navneeth Shetty and SKMWA vice president Elyas.
KMCA vice president Aisha Rafeeq delivered the welcome address. H K Madhu delivered the felicitation speech. Qatar Steel Strategic Planning manager, Gopalkrishan shared his professional experience with Dr Seethraman. KSQ senior vice president Venkat Rao, SKMWA Eliyas, KMCA Abdulla Monu and area Toastmaster Nirmala Raghuraman, Alfred Sequeira lauded Dr Seetharaman which moved the couple.
ICC dynamic and multi talented Milan Arun in her chief guest address highlighted the humble and down to earth qualities of Dr Seetharaman.
MCC president Prakash Noronha presented a brief profile enlisting the great achievement of Dr Seetharaman. All the presidents then felicitated the couple with shawl, garland and Mysore Peta and presented them with a special felicitation memento. Chief guest Milan Arun along with available MC members of apex bodies Niyaz Ahmed and Mahesh Gowda presented the felicitation memento as Dr Seetharaman was not in Doha during the ICC Republic day celebration the previous day.
Dr Seetharaman gave a motivational speech on personal and professional life development, sustainability of society and country economicsin his acceptance speech.
Bunts Qatar president Navneeth Shetty delivered the vote of thanks and Tulukoota Qatar president Ravi Shetty compered the whole programme. The programme concluded with snacks and group photographs of the association members.
