'Anaarkali of Aarah': Swara blazes in never-seen-before avatar

Mumbai, Feb 20 (PTI): Actress Swara Bhaskar is all set to surprise audience once again with her unique avatar of an erotic singer in "Anaarkali of Aarah" as director Karan Johar unveiled the film's poster today on Twitter.

Directed by Avinash Das, it is the story of a singer played by Swara, who hails from Arrah in Bihar and is popular for her songs.

Shimmering in a multi-colour lehenga with heavy jewelry and a long braided ponytail, Swara is looking every bit a star performer in the poster. "India is a treasure cover of stories and circumstances. Its always a pleasure to watch and experience a heartland story that engages and entertains in equal measure. 'Anaarkali of Aaraah' is one such story," Karan said of the film in a statement.

"I am glad to have been asked to release the first poster of this new and incredible cinema experience," he added.

Karan also took to Twitter to praise the 28-year-actress for experimenting with her roles.
"Well done @ReallySwara for constantly breaking ground!! 24th march is the date guys! For this new world and engaging film!!!"

To which she replied, "Many many thanks Karan!! The wait is over guys. Here is the first official poster of #AnaarkaliofAarah unveiled by the inimitable #KJo."

Swara believes that the "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" filmmaker is an encouraging person whom she can count on anytime for a piece of advice. "I look upto Karan not just in admiration but also I feel I can turn to him for advice," she said.
