Mangaluru: 'Shikhara' souvenir of Konkani Academy released

Mangaluru, Feb 25: The terminal programme of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy for the period 2014-17 was held in Bishop's House on February 25, 2017.

Bishop Most Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D' Souza released 'Shikhara', a souvenir of activities of the Academy during the last three years.





















Meanwhile late Jessy Castelino memorial award for excellent Konkani teacher donated by Mandd Sobhan was presented to Lancy Sequeira of Rosa Mystica High School.

The president and the members honored the Bishop for all round cooperation extended to Konkani. The Bishop assured that Konkani teaching will be encouraged in schools.

Annual conference of Konkani teachers was held in the morning. Padua College principal Rev Fr Alwyn Serrao explained the importance of mother tongue, Konkani. Flora Castelino conducted discussion programme.

Monsignor Denis Moras Prabhu and Fr William Menezes were present on the dais.
