Bengaluru, Feb 26: BJP activists held protests in front of the residences of the ministers at several places in the state including that of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at Sharadadevi Nagar in Mysuru on Saturday, February 25. They were seeking the resignation of the ministry on the allegation of collection of donations for filling Congress coffers.

The BJP activists who tried to mob the CM's residence at Mysuru were arrested by the police and released sometime later. The protesters shouted slogans demanding resignation of state ministers. Expecting the trouble in advance, the police had reinforced security near the CM's residence apart from closing the roads leading to this point . The BJP activists, who were holding placards alleging that the CM was plundering state's wealth to enrich Congress party, and demanding scrapping of steel bridge project, squatted on the road a little away from CM's residence and shouted slogans against Congress party.

At Dharwad, BJP workers surrounded the house of minister, Vinay Kulkarni, demanding his resignation. Over a hundred police personnel had been deployed there to manage the situation. Likewise, the BJP held protests in front of district in-charge minister, Rudrappa Lamani, at Haveri. At Sagar, BJP activists tried to lay siege to the residence of revenue minister, Kagodu Thimmappa. The party also held protests at Bagalkot.

Meanwhile speaking at Kolar, state health minister K R Ramesh Kumar promised to see that the CM resigns if the income tax officials officially release the details in the diary and if the allegation is proved. He accused BJP of cooking up the diary story to sully the image of the chief minister.
