Mangaluru Feb 26: District in-charge minister Ramanth Rai slammed Sangh Parivar and BJP for causing inconvenience to general public by organising a bandh on February 25 against the visit of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

Addressing mediapersons at Circuit House on Sunday, February 26, Rai said, "Sangh Parivar and BJP need to be blamed for causing inconvenience to public. We had taken all preventive measures and also instructed the Regional Transport Office (RTO) to see that private buses ply as usual, but none of the private buses were in service putting regular commuters into trouble. Even students who had exams had to bear the brunt. It is not only the district administration but also the RTO which has certain responsibility to ensure service of the private buses. These buses dominate in the district and people found difficulty in reaching workplaces".

Commenting on the controversial statement made by minister U T Khader, Rai said, "He gave his opinion and has every right to do so. Khader had commented against those who show disrespect to the Constitution and also who celebrate the death of Mahatma Gandhiji,"

Further speaking, Rai informed that chief minister's media convenor Dinesh Amin Mattu, former minister B A Mohiudeen and B Subbaiah Shetty who was conferred the prestigious Devraj Urs award will be felicitated on February 28 at Sri Dharmastala Manjunatheshwara Hall at Bantwal.

He also said, "Felicitation programme will be jointly organised by Panemangalore and Bantwal Block Congress Committee. We will celebrate Mother Theresa's canonisation day as well on the occasion. B A Mohiudeen can be depicted as one of the trustworthy personalities who was more concerned about social values and earned respect in the society. Mohideen’s contribution was vast as he worked for the welfare of the downtrodden".

"Subbaiah Shetty was one among the first landlords to have given up their own lands for implementing the revolutionary idea of giving ownership of agricultural lands to farmers who till then, remained as tenants. While Journalist Dinesh Amin Mattu has contributed in this field and trio was conferred with prestigious Devraj Urs award. Devraj Urs' tenure is particularly remembered for his reforms that targeted the depressed classes of Karnataka, namely the scheduled castes and the other backward castes," he added.

"I always had a wish to felicitate the trio at Bantwal constituency and so decided to felicitate Subbaiah Shetty, Dinesh Amin Mattu and B A Mohiudeen on February 28," said Rai.

Kavitha Sanil, Shalet Pinto and others were present.

Bandh was illegal as per supreme court.
Making bundh voluntarily doesn't comes under supreme courts decision.

Those who have instigated, terrorised to close and those who have thrown stones to trucks and busses should pay the price of damaged trucks and busses.

THE INSTIGATORS AND TERRORISTS TERRORISED TO CALL BANDH SHOULD PAY THE PRICE OF LOSS DUE TO BUNDH.

RAI n kadar now giving some excercise to their real congress ideological duties. May be these two ministers are loosing their cabinet post . In coastal karnataka especially against sanghi chaddies being just sincere in political authority is not enough but also raise voice with legal book against communals is required. unfortunately both these ministers failed in this regard .

There are times when an individual feels proud of a party in power and those times are when a party does not compromise on the basics. It is heartening to see that the Congress government in the state stood against the Sangh Parivar by providing all protection to the Chief Minister of Kerala to address a rally in Mangalore. The communal forces can only be defeated when the state decides not to give in to their dictates. How can the Sangh Parivar, a lunatic fringe give orders who should visit the district and who should not. One only hopes that the state government acts on the hooligans who had obstructed and created problems on the day by their anti-national activities.
