Mangaluru, Mar 7: St Aloysius Institute of Education inaugurated its 11th batch of BEd Degree programme at the College Auditorium on 7 March. Chief guest of the programme Dr Manohar Serrao, principal, St Aloysius Evening College, Mangaluru, inaugurated the batch by lighting the lamp.
The inaugural programme commenced with an inter-religious prayer led by senior students.
Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ, rector, St Aloysius College Institutions presided over the function. In his presidential speech he invited the new batch of students to take up teaching career as a noble vocation.
Dr Farita Viegas, principal, warmly welcomed the gathering. In his address he highlighted the values of teacher profession and challenges of modern days for them.
Fr Dr Ravi Santhosh Kamath SJ, guest of honour stressed on the exactness and perfection the teacher trainees need to imbibe during their training programme.
The new batch of students was familiarised with the course activities through a PowerPoint presentation. The staff members and members of students’ council introduced themselves to the audience. The programmed concluded
with the College Anthem.
Fr Eric Mathias SJ, director of the college too graced the occasion.
