Kundapur, Mar 17: A college student hanged herself at her home on Wednesday March 16. The victim, Ashwini (20), was a second year BCom degree course student of government first grade college at Byndoor.

Ashwini was the daughter of Manjunath Poojary from Muluwadi House in Taggarse village near Byndoor. Her father is employed in Dubai. Ashwini lived with her mother at Taggarse. Her mother had left to stay at the parental house of her husband at Gangolli two days back. Ashwini was alone at home, it is said. As per information, Ashwini had dressed herself up for going to college, but changed her mind, came back home, and hanged herself in a room of the house.

Ashwini's mother turned panicky when her daughter did not receive the calls she made to her phone. She came home on Wednesday evening to find that Ashwini was hanging from a rope. In a suicide note she left behind, Ashwini said that she was alone responsible for her death and that no one else was to blame. "I am frustrated with my life. I do not want to live and therefore decided to die. Please conduct my funeral without changing the clothes I am wearing now," she wrote.

A case in this respect stands registered in Byndoor police station. Investigation has been undertaken.
