Mumbai: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's father Krishnaraj passes away at 78

Mumbai, Mar 18: Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's father Krishnaraj Rai passed away at Lilavati hospital in Bandra (w) here on Saturday March 18. He was 78.

Krishnaraj Rai, hailing from Cowdoor in Mangaluru, had been admitted to the hospital some days ago.

He leaves behind wife Brinda, son Aditya, daughter Aishwarya, granddaughter Aaradhya Bachchan and other family members and well-wishers.

Krishnaraj Rai was an Army biologist.

Aishwarya's in-laws Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan visited Krishnaraj while he was in hospital.

Last rites will be held at Pavanhams crematorium at Santa Cruz on Saturday night, sources said.
