Bengaluru, Mar 29: On behalf of Ramachandrapur Math, contempt of court petition was filed against two persons who had filed fake public interest litigation (PIL) in the high court, seeking directions to conduct investigation about widespread irregularities that were allegedly happening in Ramachandrapur Math. The Math is claiming that the defendants are liable to be tried for contempt of court as they have failed to pay the fine imposed on them as per court orders.

The contempt of court petition which filed by chief executive officer of the Math, K G Bhat, on behalf of spiritual head of the Math, Sri Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swamiji, came up for consideration in the division bench comprising Justice Ashok B Hinchigeri, and Justice K S Mudgal on Tuesday March 28. The bench, after hearing the arguments placed by the advocate for petitioners, directed for issuance of emergent notices to defendants, M C Chandan, and president of Gokarn Hitarakshana Samiti, Ganapati Gajanana Hire, before adjourning hearing.
