Udupi: MIT student held - 1.39 kg ganja confiscated

Udupi, Mar 29: Police from the city here have arrested a student of Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) for illegally storing ganja. The seized ganja was found to have been illegally stored in a room in an apartment at Vidyaratna Nagara, Manipal.

The arrested student happens to be Hari Pai (21) from Karwar. He is a sixth semester (mechatronics) student of MIT. Acting on reliable information, a team led by deputy superintendent of police, Kumaraswamy raided the said apartment and found 1.39 kg of ganja in the apartment. It is said that this ganja was meant to be sold.

A cellphone found in Pai's possession, and hindalium utensil used for making ganja powder were confiscated from his possession. The total value of items seized has been put at Rs 38,300. A case about the seizure has been registered at Manipal police station.

    Screw up this Ganja seller, It seems he is an old trader with many many customers. Police should go deep into the issue and catch the main supplier and customers. It is shame that he is deaing in Ganja being a student.
