M'luru: FMHMC Derelakatte to observe World Homoeopathy Day, birth anniversary of founder on Apr 10

Manglauru, Apr 8: Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Deralakatte, a unit of Father Muller Charitable Institutions will be celebrating ‘World Homoeopathy Day’ commemorating the 262nd birth anniversary of its founder, Dr Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann on April 10 at Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College auditorium, Deralakatte.

Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, a religious minority institution has been the centre of excellence in the field of homoeopathy for the last three decades. The college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and is recognized by Central Council of Homoeopathy & Department of Ministry of AYUSH, New Delhi. The institution provides services to the community under the motto 'Heal and Comfort'. The College conducts undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and is the only institution in Karnataka to offer PG in all the seven specialties. National Assessment and Accreditation Council has accredited the college with ‘A’ grade making it the first homoeopathic medical college under RGUHS to be accredited.

Dr Samuel Hahnemann hailing from Germany was a pioneer in the field of medical therapeutics who introduced the new system of homoeopathy to the world. A miraculous and
effective mode of treatment for all kinds of acute, chronic and modern age disease, it is a gift to mankind. Today the system has grown into the second most widely
used system of treatment in the world. He was a genius who understood the holistic approach to man, disease and cure and he abandoned his allopathic practice and
embraced this new system.

On this grand occasion, literary competitions will be conducted such as essay competition, extempore, quiz and drug picture presentation to encourage students and increase their enthusiasm and knowledge in the field of homoeopathy. Also various camps in and around Deralakatte have been organized.

The programme begins at 9.00 am with extempore and drug picture presentation competitions. The inauguration will be held at 11 am. The chief guest for the programme is Dr M R Ravi, KAS, chief executive officer, zilla panchayat, DK district. The guest of honour will be Dr M S Karthikaeyan distinguished alumnus 1999 batch, managing director, S S Han Hospital, Madurai. The president of the programme is Fr Richard Coelho, director incharge, FMCI. Other literary competitions are to follow. Dr Rita Chakraborty is the convener of this programme.
