Mumbai: Senior journalist Hemaraj N Karkera selected for 'Madhyamashree' award

Mumbai, Apr 8: Senior journalist Hemaraj N Karkera, successful reporter and editor who has been working hard for and to promote Kannada newspapers here for the last thirty years has been selected for the prestigious 'Madhyamashree' award.

His service toward Kannada journalism has been immense. He has been the backbone for Kannada newspapers in Mumbai.

His acquaintance with M Mallikarjunayya, senior journalist, founder of Police news and Karnataka Malla newspapers helped him work as the distribution officer of Karnataka Malla in the initial years of Karnataka Malla. He has worked relentlessly in Kannada journalism since then.

The award will be presented to him on the third anniversary celebrations of Chayakirana Kannada monthly magazine of Kuntini Prakash Hegde publishers at Girija Payyade auditorium, Joker Plaza Complex, Kalyan on April 9.
