Beltangady, Apr 17: A boy who slipped and fell into River Netravati at Dharmasthala on Sunday April 16 drowned and lost his life. The incident happened at the bathing bay of Dharmasthala. The deceased has been identified as Prashant (14), son of Nagaraj, resident of Kasturibai Nagar, Bengaluru. He had come to Dharmasthala along with his parents as a pilgrim.

When taking bath, the boy suddenly slipped. Efforts to save him failed. His body was retrieved later. On the basis of complaint filed in Dharmasthala police station by the boy's father, a case was registered.
