Saudi Arabia to restrict shopping mall jobs to own nationals

Riyadh, Apr 20 (Reuters): Saudi Arabia’s labour minister issued an order on Thursday to restrict employment in shopping malls to Saudi nationals, who currently make up only one in five staff in the retail sector.

The kingdom has been steadily closing off different areas of employment to foreigners, who comprise about a third of the population, as it aims to create jobs for young Saudis and cut the unemployment rate among nationals.

A statement from the minister for labour and social development, posted on Twitter, defined malls as “closed commercial centres”, but did not elaborate on the number of jobs affected or a timeline for implementation.

According to the Vision 2030 economic reform plan released last year, the Saudi retail sector currently employs 1.5 million workers, of whom only 300,000 are Saudis. The plan calls for a million new jobs for Saudis in the sector by 2020.

Saudi was a oilrich country, own people were not ready to do the least work, many were also not educated to the present standard.and could efford to pay ,people from third world,or other ones. They wanted skilled people to raffinary,or Real estate ,housing ,to care their old ones. And people who wanted to jobs with good payment had the chance to improve their financial status.Of course they were not treated with golden tablet. But one takes the chance instead of powerty .Now arabs have learned that many have cheated them ,oil price is down, their treasure is drastically gone down, because they were resting on it for too long. Now they realized they must do something so that before oil is total empty ,a measure to lift up their situation.First ,they took a step to change in visa ,so that illegal people to sendout, educate their youths,or women to certain extent.slowly but certainly ,they want their people to take up important posts and lead it.It is better so.Everycountry should see that their people remain in their land and help to lift up countrys health, and wealth.

    Devkumar ji,

People have reached moon and you are still stuck in “raggi mudde.” Grow up and learn with time.
Whatever you are talking is getting off topic. When you do not have a point to make then you should not take a trouble of writing a long post.

Difference between earning in India and Saudi is huge.
In india even after 10years of your job career u will be deeply in debt.
If you are earning in Saudi u will have a huge house, car and some even donate money to the needy people.

    Phir bhi mera bharath Mahan.
I still love India for no specific reason

some section of people from long never ever reached upto the bank.
almost they depended upon hundi/havala to transmit there funds.
can you inform me how government will help from such money for developing nation.
you people even not spared stamps/post card to send your mails.during bygone days. at least would have earned some revenue in small quantity.
as now other country opened door..those who wants to stay in respective country can pay certain amount and become citizen with more availed facilities.
why not opt for same..and build huge house, car (benefit petrol cheap) and help needy..!!

Hahahahah. this is what terrorists and their supporters says... So if they fund you will you be a terrorist or will you follow the path of your peaceful religion???

Go to Middle East and preach it, it will take another 1000's of year to erase the link between Islam and terrorism if you start preaching what is correctly said in Quran, after which you don't have to blame USA or Russia..
