Mangaluru, Apr 23: A man who went for a bath in the sea on Sunday April 23 morning has been feared drowned.

Haneef Mastikatte (35), a resident of Mastikatte, has been feared drowned in the sea off Mukkacheri Seaground near Ullal.

It is said that due to the heat, Haneef had developed skin problems, and as a remedy, went to the sea to have a bath in the saline water. While swimming, he got engulfed by huge waves and went missing, it is learnt.

Locals and expert swimmers have started a search operation to find Haneef.

Haneef is married and has two little children.
