Dharwad: Happy ending - Stranded Pak bride Silvia Noreen joins Kannadiga husband Daniel

Daijiworld Media Network - Dharwad (SP)

Dharwad, Apr 24: The youth from Karnataka who had married a girl from Pakistan has finally succeeded in his efforts to bring his wife here from that country.

Daniel Henry Devanur (22) had married his distant relative, Silvia Noreen (21), living in Pakistan, at United Pentecostal Church at Youhana Colony at Lahore during 2016. On account of some technical glitches, Noreen could not be brought here in spite of best efforts made by Daniel.

After incessant efforts lasting over a year, the couple at last joined one another at New Delhi. Since they married at Lahore during June 2016, Daniel had been trying to bring his wife to India but his efforts had not yielded any fruit. With the intervention of union minster for external affairs, Sushma Swaraj, the wife-husband duo have got united.

Dharwad MP, Prahlad Joshi, put his weight behind the couple in their efforts to live together. Silvia arrived at New Delhi on April 19 and later to Hubballi.

It is gathered that Silvia's family had shifted its residence to Pakistan during the partition. Devanur said that Silvia happens to be his distant relative, adding that some more of his relatives live in London, Pakistan and also in New Delhi. He says he is eternally grateful to Prahlad Joshi and Sushma Swaraj for their timely help in supporting his endeavours, and also to the Government of India.

The youth has shared photos of his marriage and marriage registration certificate in social media. He had sought Sushma's help through twitter. Because of the fact that relationship between the two countries remains sour since sometime, no one was able to intervene and hasten the process. Therefore, the husband contacted MP, Prahlad Joshi, and sought his help. Joshi then held discussions with Sushma Swaraj and succeeded in ensuring that Silvia came to India and joined her husband.

I must say...Well done Prahlad Joshi and Sushma Swaraj! You are politicians with a heart. May God bless you.
To the newly wed/united couple, may God bless your marriage and keep you happy.
Also want to add, this story felt great to read...shows countries, boundaries, politics is no match to good people and they are everywhere.

It must been indeed a happy landing for Sylvia to be united again with Daniel.

It was a good gesture on the part of M.P. Prashad Joshi to use his influence to get the couple together

I join several others in wishing the young couple THE BEST OF EVERYTHING.

Our dear External Affairs Minister Mrs. Sushma Swarajji, it is indeed commendable of you to respond to the need of the Common man. You are truly a compassionate human being and we have witnessed hundreds of such compassion example ever since you took over the External affairs ministry. You are doing a wonderful job and our only prayer is May the almighty keep you healthy and happy always for bringing so much of joy in the life of fellow Indians.
