Belagavi: Heart-touching - Kaveri's dog 'Chinnu' grieves beside her grave

Daijiworld Media Network - Belagavi (SP)

Belagavi, Apr 26: A dog that was looked after and cared for by Kaveri, who died after slipping into an abandoned dry borewell at Jhunjurwada village in Athani taluk of the district, has been silently grieving for the girl, whose love and care it has been deprived of now.

The six-year-old girl's funeral was conducted at around 3 am on Tuesday April 25 in the field of a relative near her home. After the body of Kaveri was retrieved from the borwell at 11.34 pm on Monday, postmortem of the body was conducted at Kokatanur primary health centre before the mortal remains were entrusted to her parents. As considerable time had already elapsed since her death, Kaveri's body was buried early morning on Tuesday.

Even as Kaveri's parents and relatives wailed loudly at the catastrophe that has befallen them all of a sudden, an equally grief-stricken dog could be seen restlessly moving around the grave of the girl and shedding tears, although apparently it was fearful about the presence of many people at this place. It is gathered that this dog, which was raised lovingly by Kaveri, was christened 'Chinnu' by her.

The dog could be seen suffering from within since Kaveri got stuck inside the borewell and rescue operations were in full force. After the funeral, it went near the grave of the girl and silently shed the tears, which made the hearts of the people watching it to melt.

It is very sad and touchy story, Chinnu must be wondering in its mind where my caring madam/little friend has gone, I agreed with all the above comments and feel the same. Hope Chinnu overcome the lost and R.I.P. Kaveri, she was too young to go. Hope we all humans including me will open our minds, heart, eyes and follow the right path.

Come on Richard, don't tell me this bullshit post mortem applies for everybody. 90% of our people live in the dark without a bloody clue of the rules and regulations and have been taken this lying low for donkeys years now. This has ULTIMATELY become the need of the day - as simple as CHALTHA HAI CHALATHA HAI attitude.

Did Kaveri consume poison or was she strangulated or murdered or something of that sort that a 6 year old’s body has to be ripped apart for a post mortem? Crazy indeed. Any grain of sense here? It is a mere bullshit…utter nonsense. Our country I perceive falls under the category of backward class mentalities in this world where all this nonsense has been going on from time immemorial. Let me reiterate it again .. the landlord/landlady of that plot killed her DIRECTLY due to their sheer carelessness. I feel something is fishy here. They might have had some enemity too and thought this as a novel way to get rid of her. I CALL THIS A COLD BLOODED MURDER. Even if the landlord/landlady had the ethics, or some concern, he/she would have been on that very spot, done all things possible and gone out of their way to help extricate Kaveri. Over-and-above, nothing in this news write-up or elsewhere has been mentioned stating that the landlord/landlady contributed for the resources to help out Kaveri from the borewell. Whose money has gone in for this operation, may I know? This was a case of sheer callousness. Agreed, as Mr. Antonio DSilva from Kuwait in the other write-up titled "Six-year-old falls into borewell, rescue efforts on" which appeared in Daijiworld here yesterday opined that a mesh or some cover could have prevented Kaveri from falling inside but was never done so just goes to show how the landlord/landlady by-passed the process and made the gravity of the situation all the more futile which was beyond anybody’s control.

    Invisible contact!

I remember to have read such an incident in Chennai where the pet dog used to refuse food and spent days near the owner’s grave yard.
My child wood memory reminds me of an incident when my parents sold a female pig (old enough) and she was so attached to me because I used to wash and help feed mothers milk to week pig lings. She literally, rolled tears looking at me when the butchers came to catch It.! Even today such sight is afresh in my mind.

Really heart touching.... If one member goes missing, it will be noticed and it will be felt. ..Some dogs become anxious and fearful without a certain person around. Others become depressed and sickly. Some are just quieter than they used to be, and take to watching the door for the return of that missing someone...Dogs are so grateful there is lot to learn from.

Unfortunately we human being have no love and compassion towards our fellow human beings. We are ready to kill each other for silly reasons. May almighty god enlighten the hearts and minds of hate mongers and fill their hearts and minds with good thought of others.

This is the difference between "WE "( Cruel Human beings) & Dog.. We end up fighting in the name of caste, religion & race.

I would love to Quote MS Dhoni here said in one of his interview "I Love my dog than any one, no matter i loose the match or win , it treats me the same when i reach home".

Feed a Dog once and that Dog will remember You until it dies. Feed a Human many times and once you say "NO",that Person will not see your face. A dog will look at Your face and will express appreciation by shaking the tail, will kiss and lick your hand that fed,and look at your eyes. But Human will look at Your Pocket to see if more can be removed from it. This is the fact I have faced in my life,.l

Mr. Joe D'Souza, Mangalore: Human beings are ungrateful. Human beings including your brothers and sisters and your clos relations will forget you and will not hesitate even to raise hands on you. This is disgusting . I have experienced this. But the dog including the street dog if you feed once will never betray you. Human beings are unworthy people.

@Joe dsouza Mangalore, true, your own people love you till your hand is dry.Once they feel that nothing is there, try to see for asomeone else.Dog is very faithful.I remember still as we came back from holidays from home ,our dog was waiting there for days and looking towards and yowling at the place we left..He didnt even consume food for days together.as our children were feeding them their dosa or eatables to him .very fond of them.Same here, dogs are very very faithful,it depends on how you treat them. They at the same time can be very cruel suppose one beat them. This dog too must be feeling that she is under the mud and want to help?waiting till she comes back?home people must bring it back .May her soul rest in peace.

We must have dogs in every house. It is only when you adapt one ,you come to know that they are not only mans best friend but a very sensible creature. They are quick to learning and understanding your language. In fact, after 2 or 3 months of interaction you have a situation that you family cannot live without him.It could understand the loss of Kaveri a tiny angel where this dog felt which used to play beside her,eat beside her. Thanks daiji for bringing this heart weeping article

A dog will never ever forget his master. It is one of nature's wonders. It will never cheat or bite the hands that feed it. Dogs are so grateful and we humans have a lot to learn from them. You give a dog some food and it will lay down its life for you. No doubt about that.

Yes it is better to raise a dog rather than an ungrateful and ingratitude child. Last week I read son killed his own father. How much this father would have sacrificed to raise this wicked son!!instead he could have raised a dog atleast
