Dubai: RTA revises fines payment procedures

Dubai, May 3 (Emirates 247): The Roads and Transport Authority, RTA, has announced a new exclusive service for individuals enabling them to pay fines for a specific vehicle at the time of registration renewal without obliging them to pay fines levied against other vehicles registered in that individual's traffic file.

The service, which saves the time and effort of customers, is offered as part of efforts to realise RTA’s third strategic goal of happiness for its customers.

Ahmed Hashem Bahrozyan, CEO of RTA’s Licensing Agency, said, "The service of not obliging a customer to pay fines of all vehicles registered in his or her traffic file at the time of renewing vehicle registration aims to save customers’ time and effort. Asking only for payment of fines in respect of the vehicle being renewed offers more flexibility and facilitates the processing of customer transactions.

"The RTA has provided an array of channels for processing customers’ transactions, including the RTA website, self-service kiosks, smart app, RTA offices and customer happiness centres. The RTA is seeking to make its third strategic goal, people happiness, a reality by delivering excellent and innovative services. It ranks customer service as a top priority in line with the government’s directives to bring happiness to UAE citizens, residents, visitors and tourists in the emirate," he added.
