Kasargod: Bantwal man marries seven times, arrested at last

Daijiworld Media Network - Kasargod (SP)

Kasargod, May 29: A person who reportedly cheated several women by getting married to as many as seven girls, stands arrested. Police personnel from the town station said that the person they had arrested had already become a groom seven times before they stepped in and stopped him from going ahead with further marriages.

The identity of the much-married man has been given as Abdul Khader (48), a native of Bolantoor in Bantwal taluk. He currently resides at Kalluravi in Hosdurg-Kanhangad here

Khader was arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by a girl from Kalluravi, Kanhangad, who was reportedly cheated by him. Cyber cell of the department helped the police to nab him. It is said that Khader used to go around places, and get acquainted with families of girls by introducing himself as an unmarried person. Once the family fell to his trap and married off their daughter to Khader, he used to escape with the gold ornaments after living with the girls for sometime, it is said. However, the seventh marriage proved to be unlucky for him as he was traced and arrested by the police.

The police have got information that Khader has 11 children from five out of his seven wives. He had married girls from B C Road, Kalladka, Ujiyadka, Vittal, Poyyattabail, Kalluravi in Kanhangad, Bayikatte, and Adur. The lady from Kalluravi had complained that Khader had fled with her ten sovereigns of gold ornaments and one lac rupees in cash all of which belonged to her, after marrying her. The police found during their investigation that Khader was a cheater but their efforts to locate his whereabouts had failed so far.

Khader was finally arrested when the accused had visited the town with his seventh wife. He has one child out of his wife from Kalluravi, four children from his wife from Kalladka, two from the lady from Ujiyadka, two from his wife from Poyyattabail and two from the one from Bayikatte.

He thought his 7th marriage would land him in the '7th heaven'.

Unfortunately, it was not to be so. His luck had finally deserted him. Well, since it's not very difficult to get out of jail on bail, there may still be 'acche din' waiting for him.

High time , polygamy has to be banned for this community.
The religion has been violated to the great extent.
If the Paigamber has seen a this drama and the poor girls situation in the community he would have banned polygamy rights of my brothers.
Also the children's rights has rocked bottom down.
Hope if not congress atleast enemy bjp of this community will dissolve polygamy and promote working culture in Muslim woman.
How about making countries law overtake their religious beliefs and the men's attitude of bending the law for his need whenever possible beyond nature and humanity!
A time will tell the story !

For cheaters whether u ban polygamy or not they will go ahead with such tactics.

Read carefully what has written in the news. He used to present himself as unmarried. So no question of polygamy part here.

There were similar cases in other community too, where a Hindu man had cheated 15 girls. So is there is any Polygamy practice in Hindu?

So don't defame the word Polygamy. I have witnessed myself many people who gave given life to other needy women by practicing Polygamy. If such practice had been banned, those ladies and their kids would have been on roadside begging on street. Alhumdulillah today they are living a dignified life under marriage, no matter they are blessed with little wealth. But they are happy and say Alhumdulillah to God Almighty.

Dear Shaf bhakt, first of all please read the meaning of Polygamy and dont link it to particular community. There are many many cases of polygamy in other religions also. Why are you fingering particular community only. Are you jealous of them that they too are marrying more than one time. Is polygamy should be allowed for people of your religion only. Please read this particular articular thoroughly. This cheater has introduced to the girls parents that he is unmarried adn never told that he is married. It is the mistake of girls partents also for trusting an unknown person and marrying their daughters with gold + cash. You should blame the person for his wrong doing and should not blame his religion as his religion did nto allow me to lie. As per the records polygamy is more often found in other religions and Muslims are the last in the list. You better wash your mind and make it clean from hate and disrepect to people of other relgions who are your co-citizens.

I blame the parents for allowing this idiot to get married to their daughters without even checking his background. Of course, the man who married seven times should be jailed. I pity the woman who married that filthy rogue and also his eleven children from five wives.
