Bengaluru: Yeddyurappa predicts early Assembly election, probably in December

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, May 29: Following in the footsteps of former chief minister of Karnataka and state JD(S) president, H D Kumarasway, who had predicted that Assembly election in the state, which is due next year, may be advanced and held during December this year along with the Assembly election in Gujarat, BJP state president, B S Yeddyurappa, also gave out similar indication.

Hinting about the possibility of the election to state assembly being held during the fag end of this year, he called upon party leaders and activists alike to be fully prepared to face this eventuality.

Although the JD(S) state chief and BJP state president are at loggerheads in most of the issues, they have expressed similar views on the timing of the election. Congress too appears to believe in this prediction, going by the fact that state in-charge of Congress affairs, Venugopal, held marathon meetings for four days reportedly to thrash out the issue of choosing next president for Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, this is being termed as an exercise conducted in a hurry as Congress too has the inkling that the Assembly hustings might be just six months away.

Addressing the concluidng session of a programme of youth mass contact held by the state Yuva Morcha of BJP on Sunday May 28, Yeddyurappa said that as per information he has received, next election will be held during December. He exhorted the party functionaries to stop their efforts to get party tickets, and instead, concentrate on ensuring the party's victory in the election.

On Sunday, Yeddyurappa took part in the state executive meetings of state BJP Yuva Morcha and Raita Morcha. In addition, the party also undertook a media workshop for the media heads of the party. In the core committee meeting held in the evening, a decision was taken therein to unequivocally support the state tour programme being undertaken by Yeddyurappa. Party sources also said that a meeting is being held on July 1 and 2 to draw up the party's strategy for the said election.

All the three major political parties of Karnataka, Congress, BJP and JD(S) have gone overboard by planning a number of activities. They have completed a round each of selection of candidates. All these, analysts believe, are indications that they believe that Assembly election in the state will be held during December, several months ahead of its actual due date.

BJP will never come to power if teddy is the chief minister candidate. But there are bright chances if sm Krishna given a chance. At the same time congress has bright chance in Karnataka if the faces like Raul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi take retirement from active politics. If congress only kader is really capable. And for sure he will do good. He is like modi in nature. End of the day we want good governance. Country should grow with times. Never support people like yedurappa and r ahul Gandhi

Dear Yeddiyurappa, why dont you take retirement from Politics as you are not respected by anyone. This is my advice to you before you get kicked out my voters. At least you will not be ashamed by the defeat (there is no shame it is another issue).
