Baish: Indian Social Forum conducts grand Iftar meet

Baish, Jun 6: Indian Social Forum, Karnataka Chapter organized a grand Iftar meet for NRIs at Al Waha auditorium on June 1.

Executive member of the forum presented a message on Ramadan citing the present scenario of India. He told the gathering what the Quran has revealed in this holy month and the responsibilities mentioned in the holy Quran. Nowadays Muslims specially in India are deprived of constitutional rights. Presently, Muslims are targeted on the issue of Uniform Civil Code, Triple Talaq, cow slaughter ban and also interference in Muslim Sharia law. Muslims are under serious threats and if this continues, it will lead to a great disaster. He called the people for a constitutional struggle.

At the programme, excecutive members of the Indian Social Forum, Siddiq Uppinangady, Arshad Padubidri, Iqbal Kulur, Kalandar Naushad, Zaheer Udupi were also present. A small briefing on the activities of the Indian Social Forum was given on the occasion.

The programme was successfully executed with the coordination of Indian Social Forum members. A good gathering of NRI Kannadigas was witnessed on the occasion. Irshad Surathkal coordinated the programme and delivered the vote of thanks.
