Mangaluru, Jun 9: Canada-based Shubha is all set to be the leading lady in the new Tulu film 'My Name is Annappa'.

Producers of the film were on the lookout for a heroine for the film directed by Mayur R Shetty, assistant director of the film 'Pilibail Yamunakka'. Discussions of casting Sandalwood actress Shruthi Hariharan were also held. However, Shruthi had opt out of the project due to non-availability of dates.

Shubha is the daughter of Bantwal residents Sundara and Shivali Shetty. She has completed her engineering at SDM College, Dharwad and passed Master of Applied Science course at Waterloo University, Canada. She is currently working as an electrical engineer in Canada.

Shubha is fond of modelling and has already acted in three short films. As she was eager to act in films, she contacted the producer and director of 'My Name is Annappa' on recommendations from her friends and got an offer to act in the film.
