Many Karnataka people don't know how to sing national anthem: Sena leader

Panaji, Jun 10 (PTI): Goa unit Shiv Sena president Shivprasad Joshi today said many people in neighbouring Karnataka cannot sing the national anthem, remarks that could trigger a political controversy.

"People in Goa are patriots. I know many students who can sing complete 'Vande Mataram' unlike Karnataka where many people do not even know how to sing the national anthem and they also do not know our national fathers," Joshi told reporters.

Goa and Karnataka have locked horns over the sharing of Mahadayi or Mandovi river water.

Praising Sri Ram Sene chief Pramod Muthalik, whose entry is banned in Goa, he said Muthalik has done a commendable work in Karnataka and he is a protector of women.

"When Sri Ram Sene workers went to the Mangalore pub (in 2009) to make our sisters understand that it is not fair to indulge in pub culture, parents of a girl who was alleged to have been assaulted by the Sene workers, thanked Muthalik. The parents said Muthalik was doing the right job of protecting women," the Sena leader said.

He said though the Sena did not demand a ban on "pub culture", but it is against the "late night affairs outside these places".

"You visit a pub in the night at 12 and you find girls and boys sitting outside and drinking. Is this fair? We don't mind what tourists do here, but when it comes to local boys and girls, it is our duty to educate them," Joshi said.

Responding to a question on the ban imposed on Muthalik's entry, he said the Sena would support Sri Ram Sene if they want to do good work for Goa.

"Even any Muslim organisation wants to come to Goa and do some good work, we will back them," he said.

Shivaprasad, don't ever try to poke your nose in Karnataka affairs. Mind your own business and take care of your state. Ask your rowdy 'thambaku' MP who acted as a goonda on Air India and was slapped by air lines forcing him to travel by train to sing national anthem first. Never try to provoke us. Jai Hind. Jai Karnataka.

I quote last but one para in toto -

".....Responding to a question on the ban imposed on Muthalik's entry, ...........
............ he said the Sena would support Sri Ram Sene if they want to do good work for Goa." ...

What does it mean ...., when the leader said if they want do good work for Goa..., mathlab/means they don't do a good work...., it is an acknowledgement of truth.

that is the spirit..., the leader's perception is not different from Secular thinking Hindustani's.
    interesting..., jh.

    lol, DOMBARATA specialists...,

Pramod Muthalik is protector of woman?
    Ask those woman.
    Ask pink chaddi campaigners
To protect a woman, must marry one and protect her first. Not anybody's wives, daughters by beating and thrashing them.

You have a point Ahmed Sir..., However, in my view..., Marriage is not a simple thing to do.., it require both man & woman need to be biologically fit or proved to be fit to fulfill their obligations...,

May be the people to whom you are addressing know themselves better than you or others..., after all it is a practical issue/matter...,

We all know one self proclaimed swamiji from Gods own country recently realized & in his confession to the honorable court allegedly did it by self...,

    lol

We have been taught national anthem in school. Those who have not attended schools may have difficulty in singing national anthem. Sena leader can not point at kannadigas, it's all over India including Maharashtra.

Condemning job done by Sri Ram Sene chief Pramod Muthalik and his outfit. Why did not they go to Mumbai or Maharashtra to save their sisters from the dance bar? No one has right to interfere in the private life of anyone in our Country. The Pub attack was really a condemning act by the Rama Sene. Goa unit Shiv Sena president Shivprasad Joshi let the Shiv Sena MP behave themselves in public not like the MP Ravindra Gaikwad of Maharashtra's Osmanabad constituency who attacked a Air India staff and this is fresh in our minds and this was a condemning act by an elected member of Parliament.
People of Karnataka can sing national anthem and none of your business. Please take of your outfit and see if your people in Goa can sing the National Anthem.

Don't panic dear. I am sure most of Kannadiga know national anthem and are very much patriotic. The way you react on some others nonsense accusation raise doubt that your conscience is pricking you on national anthem. Please practice it couple of times and you will be able to sing it by heart .

This idiot who calls himself as patriot, does not know that Vande Mataram is not our national anthem, but national song. Shiv Sena thrives on goondagiri, extortion and all extra constitutional activities and calls Karnataka people as unpatriotic. He does not deserve any more comments.
