Kuwait: 'Chit Chaat with Dad' makes AAK's Fathers' Day special

Media Release

Kuwait, Jun 19: The ladies at AAK, took celebrated Fathers' Day for members and their families on Friday June 16 at Better Books, Salmiya. The role of a father in an individual’s life cannot be under-estimated. Just like the mother, the father too invests himself completely in the child expecting almost nothing in return.

AAK believes that the role of a father is as important as that of a mother; they also recognize and admire the difficult role played by the single alumnae mums. This event focused on making the dads feel special and honoured. The cultural secretary, Rashmi Menezes welcomed the gathering. Jackie Alphonso and Ivy Sequeira glorified Heavenly Father by singing Don Moen's 'Our Father'. This was followed by an action song 'Making Melody In My Heart' that got everyone warmed up for the evening.

Five year old Garon Mascarenhas and his father Elwyn Mascarenhas sang the all-time Jim Reeves favourite 'But You Love Me Daddy' - the utterly cute and melodious highlight of the evening. Children were made to answer a questionnaire on 'Who Knows Daddy Best' and Lloyd Dias, Praveen Luis and Naveen Pinto stood up to an applause
as their children correctly answered most of the questions pertaining to them.

A photo contest conducted in honour of the occasion saw Melita D'Souza (regional HR manager of Pentair Inc, Dubai) place Lavina Pinto and Felcy Tauro in first and second positions respectively.

In 'Teaching and Learning Series', the children learnt the basic art of 'Knotting the Tie' from Allen Alphonso. Group games, forfeits and spot prizes kept the dads and the gathering entertained. The members' kids performed and danced for their fathers.

'Chit Chaat' being the theme for the evening, Bhelpuri, Moong Dal Chaat and Papdi Chaat which were mixed on the spot and prepared by the AAK ladies had everyone smacking their lips and desiring more. Jackie Alphonso delivered the vote of thanks, bringing the evening to a close at 9.30 pm.

AAK wished all the fathers around the world, a very hHappy and blessed Fathers' Day.
