Mumbai: 'Srajana', cohort of Kannada female authors releases five books

Mumbai, Jun 20: Srajana, a cohort of Kannada female authors at Mysore Association auditorium on Bhavudaji Road, Matunga east released five books by female authors on Saturday evening June 17.

Well known critic and storywriter Prem Shekar who was the chief guest of the programme, released the books. Dr Thalthaje Vasanth Kumar, retired professor of Mumbai University, Kannada department and famous scholar presided.



Three of the books were written by Dr Girija Shastri and the remaining two books were authored by Dakshayini Yadahalli. Poet and dramatist S Daya, author Lalitha P Angadi, author Sharada Ambesange reviewed the books.

In the programme held under the aegis of Mysore Association Mumbai and under the supervision of Dr Sunitha M Shetty, Dr Girija Shastri and Dakshayini Yadahalli shared their experience regarding their works.

Sushila Devadiga sang a prayer song. Meena Kalavaara, co-convener of Srajana welcomed and gave the keynote address. Sudha Shetty and Anitha P Poojary Takode introduced the critics of the works. Author Hema Sadanand Ameen compered the programme. Joint secretary Vani Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.
