This is too much. All national highway milestones and boards in all southern states are being replaced in Hindi.
It is OK if they put Hindi boards on toilets all over India "PAAN THOOKNA MANA HAI" but not on every document and hoardings.

Hindi is one of the official language...If it is elevated as national language it may arouse regionalism and separatist sentiments... Modi Govt should be wary of it

Whether anyone reads it or not, We should give Importance to our National Language. If we do not give importance to our Language then how other Nationality will respect us. All the countries give importance to their language, For Eg: Gulf Countries, their passport is printed both in Arabic as well as English.

    Mr. Nithin Poojary, Mangalore
Hindi is one of the official languages like any other languages in India. Can you tell me from when was it elevated to "national language"? It is a north Indian and Aryan language forcibly imposed on southern states. Hence it is not acceptable that it be incorporated in the passports.

Hindi is one of the official languages of the country just as Kannada is the official language of Karnataka. In this context it can be incorporated in national passports, just as any other country does. Today Hindi is being taught in schools all over the country. An educated person should feel ashamed to say he doesn’t know Hindi.
