Mangaluru: KMC Hospital Attavar clinical service Grand finale silver jubilee celebrated

Mangaluru, Jun 24: Marking the completion of 25 successful years of providing clinical services, KMC Hospital Attavar, observed the Grand Finale of its silver jubilee celebrations on Saturday June 24 at Dr TMA Pai International Convention Centre.

Kasturba Medical College Hospital Attavar has been adding new clinical facilities and upgrading itself with state of the art clinical facilities, in addition to organising several clinical, cultural, sports and scientific activities and programmes throughout this year to commemorate the Silver jubilee year of the hospital.

Throughout the year of celebrations the key motto had been 'Go Green' which is in line with the Manipal University’s green initiatives which has fetched number two ranking in India and 42nd in the world in 2014 – 2015 under suburban category in the UI Green Metric World University ranking of the respective years.

In addition to felicitating all its clinical and non-clinical employees who completed 25 years of service with KMC, there have been 25 programmes in the last six months as part of its silver jubilee celebrations.

All the inaugurals of KMC Hospital Attavar’s silver jubilee were by chief guests pouring water on 25 saplings planted under respective guest placards at the Marina Campus- Attavar of KMC here.Invites for the Grand Finale, were paperless and a special paperless digital e-souvenir was created to commemorate the silver jubilee journey of the hospital launched by the chief guest under the title 'Silver@KMCHAT'.

As part of the silver jubilee celebrations, KMC Hospital Attavar January 2017 onwards:
Ø Partnered an advanced paediatric surgical programme with Bal Shalya Kriya Mission Mangaluru in collaboration with Peedh Parai International, Houston (USA) and Bantwal Ananth Mallya Charitable Trust whereby 25 children upto 16 years of age with untreated complicated surgical conditions requiring very high surgical expertise have been treated free of cost.

Ø Inaugurated the renovated state of the art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit & Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at KMC Hospital Attavar.

Ø Organised International Childhood Cancer Day, at the Sanjivini Hall for the childhood cancer survivors and their families who joined the special occasion.

Ø Sports Day indoor and outdoor events were conducted for the hospital employees.

Ø Unveiled a plaque of Padmashri Dr Tonse Madhav Ananth Pai (late Dr TMA Pai) in commemoration of his philanthropic contribution to society.

Ø Spread awareness on the central message that 'cancer is curable' organised through the cancer survivors meet and intercollegiate undergraduate Cancer Quiz
competition.

Ø The renovated state of the art 18 bedded Intensive Care Unit (ICU) was inaugurated.

Ø KMC Hospital and College in association with World Health Organization participated in road safety week and organised various awareness events from May 8 to 14 to create awareness about road safety.

Ø The cultural committee facilitated competitions like antakshari, variety entertainment competition, collage/art/poster making and singing medley and the scientific committee conducted competitions like essay writing, debate and quiz for the staff members of the hospital.

Ø An informative seminar session on stress management, Art of Living and yoga, diet and personality development was conducted in June for all the employees in the hospital.

Ø Team of doctors, management, non-clinical staff and students of KMC Hospital Attavar along with volunteers of Ramakrishna Mission – Mangaluru, Sri Pathanjali Yoga Shikshana Samithi – Mangaluru, staff and students of Madhusudan Kushe School Attavar took up the cleanliness drive – 'Swacch Attavar' as part of Swacch Bharat Abhiyan where the team cleaned the one Km stretch public road and the surroundings and drainage ways on both sides of the public road from KMC Hospital Attavar to NG road making it clean and ready for the upcoming monsoon.

Ø Being the first hospital in Dakshina Kannada District to start a comprehensive cancer care centre has upgraded its Linear Accelerator with Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT) treatment for cancer patients, which gives a modern touch to functionalized and continual improvement of cancer care.
