Udupi: 'Wrong to protest Iftar Koota'- Chakravarthy Sulibele supports Pejawar Swamiji

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (HB)

Udupi, Jun 28: Yuva Brigade leader and orator Chakravarthy Sulibele opined on Tuesday, June 27 that he had full faith in the efforts of Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math who was fighting for the reformation of Hindu society since decades.

After his interaction with Pejawar Swamiji at Sri Krishna temple here, Sulibele spoke to media persons and said, "I have full faith and confidence in Swamiji. There is a strong reason behind his decision. We need to support and stand with him. Hindu religion has always supported religious harmony. Sri Krishna Math and Swamiji welcome all devotees with love without any discrimination."

"Swamiji supported Swachh Bharat Abhiyan last year organised by the Yuva Brigade youth. He has good connection in the society through his affection. Taking a step forward to enhance the idea of Modi ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, he might have invited Muslim community people to the Math. Members of the Muslim community too should come forward to maintain peace and harmony in the society. One should appreciate Swamiji’s decision on building communal harmony between people of different religions. Pejawar Swamiji is a strong guiding force for us to build a strong nation. He has always indulged in propagating Hinduism since his young age. We should respect whatever he has done," said Sulibele.

"We can see that a wind of change is flowing through the nation. Members of the Muslim community are supporting the decision to build the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya. Huge hoardings have been installed in Uttar Pradesh supporting the construction of Rama Mandir. The days are very close where Muslims will support the construction of the Mandir with the initiation of Swamiji. For that, this was the first step taken by Pejawar Swamiji in Karnataka," he opined.

"I do not think it is the first step by Swamiji. Many efforts have been made earlier by him," he added.

'It is wrong to protest'

"Some organisations are planning to hold protests on July 2 regarding the Iftar get-together held at Sri Krishna Math. For their information, many get-together programmes have been held before not only in the Math, but also in the many parts of state. Long back when some organisations were planning to hold protests against the Math, members of the Muslim community came to defend the Math," said Sulibele.

"I am against the protest on July 2 as Pejawar Swamiji is a part of the Hindu society. Everyone respects him. My request to the protesting organisations is to give up the protest. Both the supporters and the protesters are Hindus. We need to get together and build a strong nation by giving up religious issues," he concluded.

Naresh Shenoy and others were present.

Udupi: Pejawar Swamiji gets overwhelming support from politicians, writers

Daijiworld Media Network- Udupi (RJP)

Udupi, Jun 28: Pejawar Swamiji who hosted Iftar party for Muslims at Sri Krishna Math here recently, has received overwhelming support from political leaders as well as writers from the state amid objections from few people.

Pramod Muthalik from Sri Rama Sene has criticised Swamiji for his initiative and called for protest. Local Member of Parliament Shobha Karandlaje too criticised Swamiji for his treatment of Muslims.

Now the political leaders from all parties have come in support of Swamiji. D V Sadananda Gowda, MP Pratap Simha and Jagadish Shettar from BJP, former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy from JD(S) and social welfare minister H Anjaneya from Congress have praised Swamiji for his initiative.

At the same time noted writers like Prof B K Chandrashekar, Dr M S Asha Devi, Dr K Marulasiddappa, Dr S G Siddaramaiah, Dr Siddalingayya, Dr H S Ramachandra Gowda and many intellectuals have supported Pejawar Swamiji and hailed his efforts as historic.

with good intention swamiji organised iftar koota but now it is taking political colors due to vested interest.Religious practices of Hindus muslims and Christians differ drastically due to fundamental faith issue but in the name of humanity they can unite together . Islam is based on unity of GOD it believes in oneness of GOD . Worshipping GOD in any form is not allowed in Islam and associating partners to GOD is not allowed in Islam . At the same islam doesn't believe in forcing its ideology upon others. Hinduism or sanatana dharma also believes in one GOD but it also believes in worshipping GOD in Human form or other forms . Christianity believes in Trinity and believes that JESUS is the son of GOD . But in the name of humanity all of them come together for common goal of building strong India

For third consecutive year, since he assumed office, PM Narendra Modi skipped the Iftar party thrown by President to mark the festivities of the holy Muslim fasting month of Ramazan.
Iftar boycott by Modi and his ministers makes a mockery of President's office. The message is even the President's office is not to be kept above the narrow considerations of the politics of religious partisanship.
The Madhwa mutts in the coastal belt have been vehicles for the spread of Hindutva, both as an ideology and as an electoral force. There are eight Madhwa mutts, which are the joint custodians of the Krishna temple in Udupi - the Palimar, Adamar, Krishnapur, Puttige, Shirur, Sode, Kaniyur and Pejavar mutts. The reigning pontiffs of the mutts conduct worship at the Udupi temple by a system of rotation. The two most prominent mutts that have long been the standard-bearers of the Hindutva cause are the Pejavar and Adamar mutts. The pontiff of the Pejavar mutt, Sri Vishwesa Tirtha Swamiji, is a founder-member of the VHP and has been associated with the Ram Janmabhoomi movement from its inception. He was present in Ayodhya when the Babri Masjid was demolished in 1992 and is a prominent figure on all Sangh Parivar platforms both in Karnataka and elsewhere in the country.
In fact, in the last 10 years the mutts have become the standard bearers of Hindutva rather than formal political parties. Political leaders depend more and more upon the Swamijis to get their message across."Mahatma Gandhi refused to enter the Krishna temple on a visit to Udupi in the 1930s because untouchability was practised there. Today, however, the mutts realise that for Hindutva to have any relevance for the lower-caste segments of the population, it has necessarily to be given political articulation and distanced, at least in its rhetoric, from Brahminism.
Chakravarthy Sulibele who is eyeing for Udupi constituency in the next assembly elections.Except on the coast, where the BJP will have the backing.

    Mr Charan,

If this is what Pejawar swamiji wanted he wouldn’t have invited Muslims to the Krishna mutt at the first place.
You clearly look like 1 feather from mutthalik’s venomous wing.
Hindus hav been visiting almost all the dargahs since the time immemorial and you will only see it if you remove your saffron glares.

    Peace out!!

Such a huge and beautiful mosque was renamed to a Christian name in UAE. No muslims demanded in return we need churches to be renamed with muslim names.
Now that is the difference between BHAKTS and Peace lovers.

    Dear Charan, Mangaluru

To show peace and harmony its not required to show off in front of everybody. It should be in your Heart. We or any other religion don't need to show it off. Still for your information go to Ullal Dargah, Katapady Dargah and many more to name Hindus are allowed inside. Don't spread hatred.

Good gesture by Swamiji when this particular religion is going through lot of problems all over the world because of extrimisim and radicalisation. Swamiji is supporting our PM's " Sabke Saath Sabka Vikas "to bring peace and harmony in this region.
But it is better to hold these Iftaar functions and any other non-religious functions in some halls outside the Krishna mutt premises.

In general, there is no harm from any community to other community whether they are hindus, muslims or christians. Only problem starts if they link them to political parties. In this case, may be Swamiji's intentions are good. Indirectly he is putting pressure on religious leaders of Muslim community to invite bhajan groups to their masjid. If not, it will look like hindus are more accomodating than other communities.

Why are we fighting as hindu, muslim and christian? Who or what is hindu, muslim, christian? . Hindu, Muslim & Christian are the ways & paths to reach GOD. They reveal to us different aspects of the same one GOD. Hindus could be called as seekers of GOD - seeing GOD in all things; Muslims could be called as soldiers of GOD - ever ready to give life for GOD; Christians could be called as servants of GOD - willing to do the will of GOD. So no fighting & killing; only loving & living. Each one & all that each one has is of GOD irrespective of religion. Therefore see GOD in each one & in his belongings (hindu aspect), protect each one & his belongings (muslim aspect), take care of each one & the belongings (christian aspect) should be applied to whole human race, because GOD’s presence should be seen not only in hindus but in muslims & christians and in their belongings, protection not only for muslims but christians & hindus and their belongings, service not only for christians but hindus & muslims and their belongings. Therefore the at most need of the hour is INTER RELIGIOUS DIALOG.
God and Godliness in heaven, human and humanness on earth, devil and devilness in hell. Thank you and GOD bless each and every one of us.

If you believe in GOD, you should also believe that different religions are different.
The creators of each religion also have created their own 'GOD's which are different from 'GOD"s of other religion. So all GODs are not one, not the same.
