Udupi: Bank manager collapses, breathes his last

Udupi, Jul 24: A bank manager suddenly collapsed to his knees and breathed his last at a hospital later in the day. This incident happened at Melpete, Udyavar near here, on Sunday July 23.

The victim happened to Ganesh Kotian (52) from Pitrodi Patna, currently residing in a rented house near Shambhukallu temple. It is learnt that Ganesh was suffering from certain heart-related ailments. When climbing the steps to his home at Melpete at around 2.30 pm on Sunday, he fell down and became unconscious.

Immediately he was taken to a hospital in the city. However, he failed to respond to treatment and passed away in the evening.

Kotian was working as manager of Moodubelle branch of Udupi Taluk Industrial Cooperative Society Ltd. He was the son of veteran Congressman, the late A B Kotian. He is survived by wife and two daughters.

A case of unnatural death in this respect was registered in Kaup police station.
