Mumbai, Jul 24: Women's empowerment organisations The Association of WE Clubs Of India, and WE district 323A-2, held their grand inaugural at Imperial Banquet Hall, Raghuleela Arcade, Vashi, on Saturday, July 15.
On this golden day in the history of WE Association, the formal induction of members and installation of commitee members was held.
WE Sudha Shah was pronounced district president (2017-18), WE Mala Shetty was made the first vice president of the district, and WE Prema Shukla was named the second vice president of the district, earlier, at the launch of 'WE' on April 6, and were formally installed at the grand inaugural.
The WE Multiple district president for 2017-18, and the WE founder and Charter Multiple District president WE Usha Joyaji, was the chief guest for the occasion.WE national founder WE Kawal Rekhi was the inaugural officer.
"As women connect with each other for support and build a sense of empowerment, they come together in celebration to launch and inaugurate of The Association of WE Clubs of India. WE is a symbol of Women’s Empowerment. The logo is about love, care and share," said the WE founder member WE Rajni Shetty.
"District 323A-2 took the lead and formed the 'WE' organisation. Many past presidents, and to name a few, WE Kawal Rekhi, WE Vidya Pachapurkar, WE Yasmin Dotiwala, WE Raxa Mehta have been the pillars and backbone of WE Multiple district. We is the powere of 'WE'," said WE Varsha Vora, treasurer, WE district 323A-2.
"Kawalji took the lead to form the organization, and design the logo, while many suggestions and opinions poured in by founder members," said the district president WE Sudha Shah whose entire family from USA was present on occasion.
"After much discussion the name our organization was finalised as 'WE' - The Association of WE Clubs of India. Our district in Navi Mumbai and Mumbai was named WE District 323A-2," said founder member, WE Chandra Arora.
"WE District 323A-2 has 15 clubs and 444 members from Navi Mumbai and Mumbai from Chembur, Ghatkopar, Thane, Alibag, Mahad, Uran, and New Panvel Steel Town, among other places," said founder WE Rachna Bothra.
"The installation was done by WE Vidyaji Pachapurkar and induction was by WE Lalitaji Mehta," said district secretary, WE Mamta Puranik.
"Alone we can do so little, but together WE can do so much," said WE Saroja Mekalji.
"Difficulties in life do not come to destroy you, but help you realize the hidden potential and power within. Let difficulties know that you too are difficult as in words of Dr A P J Abdul Kalam," said founder, WE Jyoti Raj.
WE founders WE Sulochana Kapil, WE Chandra Arora, WE Saroja Mekal, WE Savita Nayak, WE Rachna Bothra, WE Dr Anagha Kunnure, WE Rajni Shetty, WE Neelam Sharma, WE Jyoti Raj, WE Ujwala Khobrekar and WE Anupama Patil, were present on occasion.
