Puttur: Women Empowerment Cell inaugurated at St Philomena College

Puttur, Aug 1: The Women Empowerment Cell of St Philomena College here was inaugurated at the college auditorium, on Wednesday, July 26.

Harini Putturaya, assistant professor in Computer Science, Vivekananda College Puttur inaugurated the Cell and said, "Women play a predominant role in the change of the society and nation at large. Today, all walks of life are open to the women."

Prof Leo Noronha, principal in his presidential address said, "Today, a large number of women students enter the portals of higher education. Education is the major determinant and catalyst for rapid social change in a nation."







The convenor of Women Empowerment Cell Venkateshwari K S and joint secretary of the Students’ council Sweedal Lobo were present on occasion.

Anarghya S led the prayer. Sahana Rao, president of Women Empowerment Cell welcomed the gathering. Soundarya, secretary of the cell proposed the vote of thanks. Josvita Lorraine Lobo compered the programme.
