Air India passengers wait 3 hrs in plane as tech snag delays flight

Mumbai, Aug 6 (PTI): As many as 282 passengers on board a Delhi-bound Air India flight from here had a harrowing time today after they were made to sit in the aircraft for over three hours following a technical glitch in the Boeing 777 plane.

The flight, AI 809, which was scheduled to depart from the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport here at 11.15 am for New Delhi, took off at 2.34 pm, after a delay of nearly three-and-a-half hours, a source said.

"During this period, all the passengers remained seated in the glitch-hit plane," the source said.

When contacted, an Air India spokesperson said that the technical snag forced the airline to delay the departure of its Mumbai-Delhi flight today morning.

"Air India has ordered an inquiry to find out the glitch in the plane just before its departure," an Air India spokesperson said.

He confirmed that there were 282 passengers on board.

This type of snag delays in Air India happens frequently and I was once inside for 3 hours while it was being checked. The temperature inside the aircraft goes up since the AC does not work or works not properly like while it is flying. It is really harrowing to sit inside the standing aircraft. Also yesterday, at Chicago airport. Air India was not allowed to fly till corrected, since some thing was missing in seat belts.

    Jeevan,
Please talk sense. Every time do not bring politic and holy cow in non-related issues.
I wish one day if you are a frequent traveler by flight I want to test your testimony and cow urine. If you drink and prove I will just watch your reaction.
I had experienced such moments many times, dome times technical snag and sometimes due to bomb threats on board.

    Jeevan

While Morarji Desai was PM and talked about prohibition, Goan people told him "You drink your urine and we drink out penny, don't interfere". According to you, those who do not drink cow urine are anti- nationals. I can write a lot, but, your view does not deserve any comment.

Have you ever sat in a stationary plane for 3 hrs? I did.

Have you ever been by AI all of your life? I did.

Have you also lost your brain due to drinking cow urine? I really wonder!!
