Bantwal, Aug 11: Parents of children in Sri Rama Vidya Kendra and Poonacha Sridevi School at Kollur held protests on Thursday, August 10 against the state government which has stopped aid to the school.
Students of these schools, 2128 in number are provided Bisiyoota, uniform and free books. The aid to the schools which were adopted by the government had continued since 2007 even when Siddaramaiah led government came to power.
As many as 52 such schools in the state are provided such aid and only these two schools are deprived of the privilege.
Parents Shobha, Nalini, Hakeem, students Akhila, Bhavya, Rajeevi, advocate Asha Prasad Rai and others were present in the protests.
