Mangaluru, Aug 14: Makers of Tulu film ‘Pettkammi’ have finally selected a singer to sing ‘Popunda…Popunda’ track. Lathesh Poojary will lend his voice to the song.
A programme titled 'Voice for Pettkammi' was also held to select a new talent. Aspiring singers were asked to sing 'Popunda Popunda', and sent it via email. Eight people namely Akash Hebbar, Bharat Shetty, Harry D’Souza, Karthik V, Rahul rai, Rajath Mayya, Shreyas Sunil and Lathesh Poojary were short listed. Mumbai based Lathesh, is basically from Dakshina Kannada.
The film had run into controversy a few months ago due to its poster. It was again in news for its unique poster last month.
‘Pettkammi’ is produced by Ashok Shetty and Sunil Shetty under the banner Malgudi Talkies. Keerthi will direct the film.
