Mangaluru: Expert P U College, Valachil celebrates Independence Day in grandeur

Mangaluru, Aug 15: Expert P U College, Valachil Campus, here, on Tuesday, August 15, celebrated the 71st Independence Day at Time Square.

Managing director of Pancham Nishad, Mumbai, Shashi Vyas, was the chief guest of the programme.

In his address, Shashi Vyas said, "Responsibility and accountability does not come from others, but from within." He gave a call to students to focus on their goal in life and reminded them to be aware of their duties towards their motherland.


    

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

He also said that knowledge must be used for good deeds and students must cope up with the 'Tantra Yug', the age of technology, by making their foundation solid with the help of their rich Indian culture and history.

Vice chairperson, Ushaprabha N Nayak, administered the oath to student leaders and spoke on occasion. She asked the students to be their own leaders and reminded them to protect their country for their own good.

Patriotic song and pyramid presentation by students were a part of the programme.  

Prize for the best travelogue was awarded to Vrinda R Prabhu.

Guests planted saplings on the occasion.

Chairman of Expert Group of Institutions, prof Narendra L Nayak, Jyothi Vyas, wife of chief guest Shashi Vyas, trustees Ustaad Rafique Khan and Manjunath Kamath, Information Technology director Ankush N Nayak, principal Dr N K Vijayan Karippal, and Nagesh Shetty were present on  occasion.

President of student parliament, Rahul Shivanand Chandu welcomed the gathering. Kaveri B P proposed the vote of thanks.  Ananya A Dhumale and  Lakshya Khandelwal compered the programme.
