Mangaluru: Dr Nischith D'Souza made member of kidney transplant committee

Mangaluru, Aug 17: Senior professor of Yenepoya University and well-known urologist from the city, Dr Nischith D'Souza, has been appointed as a member of Karnataka State Kidney Transplant Committee.

The state government has formulated zonal organizing committees in the matter of surgical procedures related to transplantation of kidneys. These committees work under health and family welfare ministry of the government to ensure that provisions of The Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act, 1994, are strictly adhered to in all cases.

Dr Nischith happens to be the first one to be nominated to the committee from Mangaluru zone. Currently he is serving as the secretary of Karnataka Urology Association.
