Kundapur: Pedestrian killed on spot after being hit by car

Kundapur, Sep 18: A pedestrian died on the spot as a passing car hit him at Moorkai, Kota on Monday evening, September 18.

The deceased has been identified as Ismail, resident of Gulvadi. The incident occurred when he was returning after visiting the house of his wife.

Ismail was a bus conductor by profession. He had gone to the house of his wife at Madhuvan on Monday. He later returned from there and came to Kota Moorkai in the evening. As a bus was waiting to go to Kundapur from there, he ran from east side of the road to the west. An Eeco car was approaching from Udupi to Kundapur but
Ismail continued to cross the road as he was not aware of the car. He died on the spot after being hit by the car.  

He is survived by wife and a daughter. A case has been registered at Kota police station.
