Kasargod, Sep 19: The district sessions court here has exonerated three persons accused of involvement in the murder of Muhammed Cinnan (21), resident of Nellikunje Bangaragudde in the town.

Those who were found not guilty by the court are B Jyotish from J P Colony, Anangoor, Kiran Kumar and K Nitin Kumar, both from Adkathabail.

Muhammed Cinnan was moving in a motor bike on Anebagilu Road near the new bus stand here on national highway when a gang had attacked him with knife and inflicted serious injuries. Later, the injured  youth had died in a private hospital at Mangaluru.

Out of 48 witnessed listed in the case, 23 had recorded their statements.

On Monday, in view of the expected delivery of verdict in the case, tight police vigil had been arranged all over the town. A few days back,  murder attempt on the accused, Jyotish, had been made on Kotekani rod near new bus stand by dashing a jeep against the motor bike in which he was travelling. Although the car used for the purpose has been confiscated, the accused in the case are still at large.
