Mumbai: RIS Sanpada to play at national basketball tourney

Mumbai, Oct 4: Team Sanpada from Ryan International School will represent the 'south zone' at the All India CBSE Board Schools Clusters Girls under-17 national level football tournament scheduled in Novermber.

The national tourney will be held from November 14 to 20, at Madhya Pradesh.

RIS Sanpada played 4 matches, including the finals, at the south zone CBSE board clusters girls under-17 football tournament, to qualify for nationals.

The south zone tourney was held at Assisi Vidyaniketan Public School, Cochin from October 1 to October 3, wherein 23 CBSE board schools from all over the south of India had participated. The tournament was played on a knockout basis.

Pre-quarter: RIS Sanpada won against Jain Public School, Tumkur, Karnataka 7-0 (Sayali Rajpure 4, Bhagyashree Dalvi 2, Neha Samare 1)
Quarter Final: RIS Sanpada won against Millennium National School, Pune 5-0 (Neha Samare, Sayali Rajpure, Bhagyashree Dalvi 2, Devika Kattekola)
Semi Final: RIS Sanpada won against Bhavans Munshi, Thiruvankulam 3-0 (Bhagyashree Dalvi, Jahnavi Shetty, Devika Kattekola)
Final: RIS Sanpada won against Jawahar Hr Sec School, Kudallor, Tamilnadu 2-2 (Full time) Bhagyashree Dalvi 2
Tie Break: 4-3 (Bhagyashree Dalvi, Jahnavi Shetty, Shreya Prabhu and Sayali Rajpure)

Bhagashree Dalvi was awarded the best player of the tournament award.
