How long will PM tell 'lies', asks Raj Thackeray

Mumbai, Oct 5 (IANS): Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) President Raj Thackeray attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi again on Thursday, asking "how long will he (PM) continue to tell lies" to the country.

Addressing a rally after taking out a massive procession to Churchgate to demand better facilities for Mumbai commuters after last week's stampede killed 23 commuters, Thackeray said the country was being pushed into crises on all fronts, brought about by the Bharatiya Janata Party government.

"Modi has been lying and misleading the people of this country. Now I realize that when I visited Gujarat a few years ago at the behest of (industrialist) Ratan Tata when Modi was the CM, I was shown a misleading picture of the development there," Thackeray said to cheers.

He reiterated that the people of the country had lost faith in Modi, who "only keeps giving speeches daily - how much is he going to speak?"

In an exasperated tone, Thackeray said that "now whenever Modi comes on TV, we feel like switching it off, but then he starts his 'Mann Ki Baat' on the radio".

Calling the PM "a liar", he said that like the people of the country, Thackeray said he believed and had faith in Modi, but now "we have been betrayed" and there is so much anger among the masses.

Targetting BJP President Amit Shah, who had once said the election statement of depositing Rs 15 lakh in every Indian's bank account was a 'jumla' or an electoral stunt, he said that it meant they "cheated the people of the country".

He also gave an earful to Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari who once said that the slogan of 'Achhe Din' had stuck in the BJP's throat, proving to be very troublesome, and 'Achhe Din' would never come.

Attacking the Bullet Train proposal, Thackeray wondered for whom it was intended. "It will benefit only the people of Gujarat, but the loan of Rs 1.08 lakh crore will be repaid by all the people of the country who have nothing to do with the project."

He alleged that Suresh Prabhu was ejected as Railway Minister because he opposed the Bullet Train and Piyush Goyal brought in to facilitate it.

The MNS leader claimed he was "the first to oppose the mega-project" before other "parrots" started talking about it, indirectly referring to his cousin and Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray.

Training guns on the Western Railway and Central Railway which runs the lifeline of Mumbai, the suburban trains network, Thackeray demanded that "within 15 days all hawkers, encroachments and obstacles" to commuters must be removed from all railway station premises to prevent recurrences of another tragedy like the September 29 stampede.

"If you fail within this ultimatum, then on the 16th day, my MNS men will do it. After that the railways shall be directly responsible for whatever be the repercussions," he warned amidst thunderous applause.

He also warned that Thursday's procession was a peaceful one, but if there is no if there is no change, the next one would be otherwise.

May come out with an idea of having his language motormen for the city.

Thackeray, it's understandable that your party witnessed election losses against BJP in 2015, but that frustration you cant take away by doing these kind of statements. Your party members were denied positions in cabinet or assemblies doesn't mean that you should start criticizing. Agreed there are ups and downs but Modi is not God to rectify and get immediate desired results. At least every rational individual knows very well that performance is far better than CONgress. At least there is no boot licking and minority appeasements. Just think over it.

Ever since this man became PM he has not held any press conference. He very well knows that he cannot face the press where he will be grilled with questions which he will not be able to answer. He has proved it once when he faced Rajat Sharma in one of the interviews in Ap Ki Adalat. He can only give bhashans and "man ki baat" on radio.

Big salute to Mr. Raj Thackeray for taking up the cause of common man and middle class.
MNS & Shiv Sena time and again, boldly taking up issue like, inflation, injustice to railway commuters etc. without any fear of repercussions.
People in Mumbai are compelled to travel in crowded Trains become like Pickle.
Even animals are taken better care of than humans.
All because Mumbai Suburban Railway Network have been neglected to the basic needs of the people for so long.
Instead of according priority to urgent needs of Mumbai Suburban Railway, PM Modi is initiating bullet Train to Gujarat!

Also there are no openings for NRIs in Indian politics.

With political leaders across the spectrum calling the PM a liar virtually amounts to a No Confidence Motion in the PM. It is High Time the PM addresses the media and clarifies all the burning issues facing the nation. Talking on radio or on TV during election rallies is scripted where as a press interview will give the nation a true picture of the PM and his ability to lead this great country as a Statesman of a Jhumla Politician.

There is absolutely nothing for Modi and BJP to say matters relating to the country and its people except fake and fabricate something and say as if they are very smart and rest of population are just cows. Are there any achievements, accomplishments and initiative of any sort in the past, now nor in the future except moral policing, communalism, goondagiri, crimes, loot and chori. BJP's performance is reflected in country's GDP and it will go down and Modi's speeches will be running high like bullet trains without tracks.

Our Politicians are just busy in deviding our mother land. Yes we got the Independence from British, but we are not maintaining our standard of Unity. Just communalism, internal state border issues, food habits and so on. Our unity is fading now. None of the political parties are interested for the welfare of the common people, infrastructure, unity etc.
Hope and pray the Almighty God will provide the extra vision to these politician to safeguard our mother land.

Narendra Modi's 'promise' as the party's PM candidate that each Indian would receive Rs 15 lakh when black money would be repatriated from abroad . Now BJP is killing middle class people.... Most of the retiree are depending on interest income..... Rate of interest on fixed deposit reduced. Most of our youngsters are waiting election result in 2014 and they will get good job.... Now they are waiting for 2022..... Their waiting period will end only after their retiring age?????
