Oman Bunts to host Buntara Mahotsava on Oct 27

Oman, Oct 12: The Bunts community residing here are all geared up to celebrate a milestone of 30 years of togetherness. The community gatherings in the city have strived in bringing together its community members, encouraging budding talent, promoting socio-cultural values through events with a goal to preserve its cultural heritage.

To commemorate their 30 years of togetherness here, the Bunts of Oman organizing team is planning a sports day. The ethnic sports day (Kesarugadde sports) which will be the first of its kind outside India will be an exciting family get-together event, 'Buntara Mahotsava 2017' showcasing the splendour of the Bunts and their extraordinary cultural heritage.

Addressing the media, convener of 'Buntara Mahotsava 2017' organizing team, Shashidhar Shetty, Mallar said, “The team has put in a lot of effort, planning the Mahotsava for many days to present this 30th year event of the community in a tasteful manner to make it a home away from home. Shashidhar Shetty said the variety of planned events is based on Bunt culture and heritage, mainly highlighting ethnic sports in a harmonious human relation with nature. This annual event will be an opportunity for all Bunts in Oman to meet their fellow community members under one roof and share their experiences and joy with one another. On behalf of the organizing team, a request has been made to all Bunts in Oman to come together and be part of the extravaganza.

The first sports meet will be held on Friday October 13 from 7 am to 7 pm at the Sidab Sports Club. Apart from cricket and ladies throwball, there will be exciting fun games for all age groups.

The ethnic sports day (Kesarugadde sports) will be held on October 27 from 7 am to 7 pm at Barka Guthu.

The annual Bunts cultural event ‘Buntara Mahotsava will be held on November 17 at Barka Guthu culminating in Yaksha Vibhava- a Bayalata titled 'Tulunaada Siri' and later on November 18, Shree Shreenivaasa Kalyana at the Grand Hall of Al Falaj Hotel by the renowned Bhagavatar Shri Patla Satish shetty and his troupe, in association with Orbit Events and Management.

The Bunts of oman, proudly say their association is truly democratic and a unique model association wherein every member has a chance to form a team to host the get-together events year after year.

Buntara Mahotsava 2017 is organized under the committee of Saroja S Shetty and Shashidhar Shetty Mallar, Mallika S Shetty and Kalladi Shankar Shetty, Sudheera D Shetty and Diwakar Shetty Mallar, Shyna G Shetty and Ganesh V Shetty, Vanishree K Shetty and Nagesh Shetty Kinnigoly, Surekha Rai and Sathyaprasad Rai.     Wishing Bunts Oman all the very best for a grand success of their Pearl Jubilee celebrations. Bunts Oman is a well organized community and a closely knitted family. They have been striving hard for past 30 years to bring all the community members under one umbrella so as to help each other, spreading the message of fraternity, unity, cultural bondage in line with the long standing rich traditions.
