Udupi, Oct 12: Activists of Hindu Jagarana Vedike (HJV) and Vishwa Hindu Parishat (VHP) staged protest in front of DC’s office Rajathadri Manipal condemning state government for anti Hindu policies on Wednesday October 11.

Addressing the protestors, Sunil K R, co-convener of Mangaluru division said, “The Karnataka government is suppressing the people of Hindu community. The HJV and VHP condemn the policies of government. The anti Hindu policies should be stopped in the state. No one should say anything about ideas of Hinduism. If a Hindu leader talks about something, it leads to wrong perception. If any rationalists talk on issues it is highlighted as freedom of speech.”

“The activists of the VHP and HJV demand immediate action against the culprits who have harassed and tortured to Hindu social activists. The state government should hold investigations on bureaucrats of the state and those who are trying to suppress social and religious activities of Hindus. A protest will be organized for demanding eviction of anti nationals and fundamentalists from societies,” he added.

Activists also raised their voice against Deyi Baidithi who allegedly insulted mother of Koti Chennaya and feelings of the community.

“State government is imposing restrictions and taking away the freedom of expression,” alleged Sunil.

“Karnataka government has issued a notice to co-coordinator and secretary Jagadish Karanth and directed him not to take part in Hindu convention. The Siddaramaiah government should treat all communities equally,” he said.  

Dinesh Mendon, Santhosh, Lokesh Shettigar, Ganesh Bailuru, Praveen Udupi, Geethanjali Suvarna and others were present.
