Kasargod: Theft in house at Kanhangad - 100 sovereigns of gold stolen

Kasargod, Oct 16: Thieves who entered the house of P Abdul Gafoor, residing at Avi in in Kanhangad, succeeded in taking away gold ornaments weighing a hundred sovereigns. Gafoor happens to be a dealer for a mobile phone company.

Thieves reached the inside of this home by cutting the door of the kitchen and bars of the window when there was no one in the house. The ornaments stolen were kept in a cupboard. The incident happened on the night of Saturday October 14.

A police team led by Kanhangad deputy superintendent of police, K Damodaran, visited the spot on Sunday morning and undertook investigation. Sniffer dogs and finger print experts also gathered details. About a month back, cash amounting to Rs 2.5 lac had been stolen from the house of M S Hameed, residing  half a km away from Gafoor's home.
