Qatar rejects Trump's Jerusalem stand


Doha, Dec 6 (IANS): Qatar's Emir has said his country will reject the US decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani made the remarks at a meeting with Palestine's envoy in Doha on Tuesday who delivered a message from Palestine President Mahmoud Abbas, Xinhua news agency reported.

"Qatar has totally rejected any measure calling for the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel," Al Thani said.

The Emir stressed the religious and political importance of Jerusalem to Arabs, Muslims and the whole world.
