Moodbidri: Ivan suspects bus lobby's hand behind unreasonable train running time

Daijiworld Media Network - Moodbidri (SP)

Moodbidri, Dec 11: "Currently, even after the railway line between Mangaluru and Bengaluru was converted into broad gauge, trains take about 13 o 15 hours to run between these two destinations. There is suspicion that bus lobby is working behind this inordinately slow running time. MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, has the authority to scrutinize the truth behind this suspicion. He should immediately intervene in the matter and find out the truth," said MLC and chief whip of the government in legislative council, Ivan D'Souza.

Ivan was addressing a press conference in his 'Janaspandana' office here on Sunday December 10.

"I have raised the demand for opening Indira Canteens in all the five taluks of Dakshina Kannada district in the council. In the coming days, a total of 247 Indira Canteens will be opened which include district and taluk headquarters. Such canteens will also come up in Moodbidri and other taluk headquarters of the new taluks which will be coming up shortly," he assured. He said that this information was given by food and civil supplies minister, U T Khader. Khader had said in his reply that the chief minister had given this information to him, he stated.

Ivan also said he is of the opinion that such canteens should come up in Mulky and Bajpe in addition to this town, taking in to account high number of coolies, students, and population living below poverty line.

Kudubi community

Ivan said that recommendation had been sent to include Kudubis under scheduled tribe category ten years back. "Institute for Social and Economic Change' having headquarters at Nagarbavi Bengaluru had been asked during May 2015 to undertake a study on this issue and submit a report. Minister for social welfare and backward classes, H Anjaneya, gave this information in response to a question posed by me," he explained.

Ivan said that the transport minister had told him that luxury buses would be introduced by Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) to Bengaluru from this town during January 2018. Permits have been issued to KSRTC to run 56 single trips by eight buses between Mangaluru and Karkala via this town. Government buses will take to road in this sector once mandatory meetings are held and basic facilities are put together, he added.

Apart from Bangalore - Mangalore trains, It's disgusting that the Matsyaganda train Mangalore-Kurla-Mangalore is regularly irregular. Stopping every where to give way to the other trains, and taking the precious time of the passengers. Can our politicians, Fire and Bundh Masters, give thought to this problem faced by the public.
The same is right for Jet Airlines Mangalore-Dubai-Mangalore, it's almost late flying.

I don't know what has happened to our Politicians. They always talk crap without knowing the facts. Pls note Mangalore -- Bangalore railway line has been opened after gauge conversion. The gauge conversion was done through PPP model between Sakleshpur and Subramanya Road. HMRDC was formed. When HMRDC was formed conditions were laid that max 4 passenger trains can run for the next 30 yrs. This contract will expire in 2032 AD. When this contract was signed what were our so called Politicians doing nothing. They didn't do anything. They only talk . We can run 100 trains from Bangalore to Sakleshpur but from Sakaleshpur to Subramanya road it is restricted. This PPP model was done so that Goods train can be used max to load iron ore from Bellary to Mangalore port.
Pls note our Politicians from Coastal Karnataka i.e Janardhan Poojary, Oscar Fernandes, Veerappa Moily didn't take initiation with regards to Railways. When South Western Railway was formed it was decided Mangalore to be part of SWR but this didn't happen. Our Politicians dodnt know what is zone etc, they know only to blame the other party, saying that they are pro poor etc. When you see our neighbouring state I,e Kerala. Any issue with Railways they will go united all the MP's irrdepstive of party and get the job done. This is the major hinderance.
Ivan D'Souza does not know what he is talking. He talks in the air. We need Politicians who are pro development, takes initiation in the overall developmentin their constituencies. We do not want Politicians who don't know what they talk.

Any chance for buses from Udupi and Mangalore to Bajpe Airport Terminal???? Taxi mafia behind it???
KSRTC buses 24X7 from Bajpe Airport to Kuloor and Bajpe city will be useful. We can hire Auto from Bajpe city. One KASRTC bus from Airport to Bajpe city every 30 minutes will be a boon! Any one / any politician willing to work on this???

Bus lobby in DK is the brainchild of Congress. Ivan can set it right if wants to win the next election. Introduce KSRTC buses to every corner of DK. Show some development rather than empty promises.
