Strange story with no basis: Pak's Khurshid Kasuri rejects Modi's conspiracy claim

Islamabad, Dec 13 (PTI): Pakistan's former foreign minister Khurshid Kasuri on Wednesday dismissed as "a strange story with no basis" the claim made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi that Islamabad was interfering in the Gujarat Assembly polls.

"I am astonished. I had gone for dinner and I heard him saying that Pakistan is hatching a conspiracy," Kasuri, who served as Pakistan's Foreign Minister between November 2002 and November 2007, told Urdu language Samaa TV news channel.

Recalling that ex-prime minister Manmohan Singh, ex-vice president Hamid Ansari, ex-Army chief Gen Deepak Kapoor, four former foreign secretaries and three former high commissioners to Pakistan and military analysts were present in the dinner, Kasuri asked, "are they also part of Pakistan's conspiracy? It is a strange story with no basis. What else can I say."

Addressing an election rally in Palanpur in Gujarat this week, Modi sought to suggest that Pakistan was trying to influence the assembly polls in the state. He claimed some Pakistani officials and Manmohan Singh met at then Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar's house over dinner on December 6.

"The people who attended the private dinner were talking on India and Pakistan ties...," Kasuri asserted.

Kasuri also claimed that he even met sitting president of India during his last visit to the country.

"I have even met the former RAW chief in previous seminars. So does that imply, all of the people whom I met were conspirators?" he asked.

Kasuri said that he is invited to such seminars and events because of his association with the India-Pakistan peace process and work on Kashmir.

Our Prime Minister with his comments has made a mockery of himself and all his countrymen. He certainly is no Statemen material like Vajpayee and the rest. Our country needs Statesmen not Jhumla PM's. The BJP should look for alternatives.

As per BJP Gujarat is the 'Model' state for the rest of India. 'Gujarati's trust whatever BJP leaders says is the absolute truth.
Party strategist Amit shah has already clarified to news channel in the past that whatever promised in 2014 Lok Sabha elections by the party is nothing but 'Jumla'.
Today once again former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister has acknowledged that' it is okay to lie to convince voters'.
For the will of power BJP can stoop to any level. Unfortunately whatever BJP leaders 'lie' consider as 'truth' and carried by its social media cottage industry through its propaganda websites.
In UP election 'surgical strike' which is yet to be proved.
In 2002 election it was 'Miya Musharraf'.
In 2017 it is once again 'Supari.
If analyse BJP has successfully diverted the whole nation once again from the core issue like unemployment, GST, price rise, GDP fall, public sector banks bankruptcy, capitalist loan, demonetization and the latest bill ready to pass to seize the savings of account holders in case of bankruptcy and so on.
So once BJP has started using 'Ayodhya temple' one its trump card using Subramanian Swamy as tool who is expecting finance ministry post. Pakistan is the best choice of weapon of party to make the citizens belief what they say is truth.

If it is such a situation and the country is at risk of being subverted then BJP should have taken adequate steps long ago to contain the situation and taken action against the conspirators. Why such thing hasn't happened and only highlighted now during election campaign????....BJP will be a equal partner in crime if it just let this situation fade away without appropriate action. Faking to glory.

It's really shame that our PM is giving undue importance to Pakistan and makes it a decisive force in our internal matters for no obvious reason. Pakistan which is hated and dumped by the world suddenly sees basking in glory, thanks to BJP and Modi's blind politics. Is there any limit BJP can lower india's dignity and pride for its self gain by glorifying a enemy state?????...

When authenticity of Surgical Strikes was questioned, they took shelter behind armed forces saying those who doubted, were disrespectful to our own armed forces. Now ex army chief Gen Deepak Kapoor having attended this dinner, does Modi's accusation apply to the General as well?
