Udupi: Chaos at Malpe after locals confront youngsters at beach

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (UM)

Udupi, Dec 13: Chaos prevailed at Malpe here late evening on Wednesday December 13 after locals confronted three boys and three girls belonging to different communities who were visiting the beach at Kodi Bengre.

It is learnt that a group of three boys belonging to the same community and three girls from different communities went to Hoode Delta beach to celebrate the birthday of one of the girls in the group. Among the boys, one works in a mobile shop, another in a bike rental shop and the third is unemployed.

While they were at the beach, the locals saw the group and questioned them as to who they were and what they were doing at the beach. Soon, a big crowd began to gather and questioned the boys and girls. The locals alleged that the youngsters were behaving 'indecently'.

On receiving information, Malpe police led by SI Madhu arrived at the spot.

However, the crowd refused to hand over the girls and the boys to the police, saying that they would deal with them themselves. They also demanded that their parents be called to the spot.

The locals initially alleged that to control the mob, SI Madhu fired in air, however, the police have clarified that no firing took place.

The people finally began to disperse, after which the police took the boys and the girls to Malpe police station.

However, the matter did not end there. A large crowd of about 150-200 people, including those belonging right-wing outfits, gathered in front of Malpe police station condemning the police for firing into the air and demanding that the parents of the youngsters should be called to the police station. Arguments arose between the mob and police.

Tense situation prevails at the spot. Police have also deployed a KSRP squad at Hoode.

The parents of the youngsters were called and the latter were handed over to them. The crowd dispersed thereafter.

moral policing by immoral goons should be stopped and such anti social + anti natinal elemetns should be stopped from disturbing peace and harmony. In the same time, i request boys and girls from different communities to avoid gathering in such places so that it will be mishandled by these anti social elements. You are putting yourself and your parents in trobule by giving chance to these anti humans. Is your life only to enjoy without any boundary. You are young and should utilise your youth time for good things and not to waste in enjoyment which will lead to illegal activity. Dont follow westerners who have no logic and morality. They live like animals. They have no respect to their parents. They are living with any one any time and any where. We are Indians and we value respect. Westerns prefer to live without dress like animals. Will you follow them?

This is nothing but frustration of unemployment. This is the major challenge in India. People were hoping the current central government fulfill their promise of providing employment but they totally failed.

Why people are screaming on top of their voices no jobs , no jobs, berozgari!!! What is this? How many people engaged to handle a few helpless youngsters?? This is over employment.. See the mob, even trying to teach Police how they should act. Lets become responsible and inform Police if something wrong happening other than showing muscle power with innocent outsiders.

What others do is not your business. First see matters inside your house and then rest. Harassing youngsters like this not right. What if they were from different communities. They are friends and they have right with whom to go where they want. Don't put your nose into other people personal space. Moral policing will not be accepted.

The police handled this matter well. But if tomorrow the other community says that they will handle without any police intervention in such issues will it be ok? The local goons beat even the girls also. The police must arrest that self policing chaddi goons. Is there any fatwa against beach lovers in malpe. The local administration must throw out safron flag from every beach.
